Became better known as a top engine builder, including numerous successful Formula 1 engines, including with Toleman, Arrows and Minardi. He left Formula 1 at the end of 1997, but for a while, was still in demand as an engine consultant. After working as an apprentice engineer for the De Havilland company in Hatfield, Brian founded his engine business in 1969, retiring in 1972 when his business prospered more than his driving. He was a tuner initially before building his own engines initially for Formula 2. Sadly died in 2014 after fighting a battle against illness for some time. Hart was a very capable driver though and won the 1963 Grovewood Award for the most promising young racing driver in the Commonwealth.
