Popular man who also raced in sportscars. Continued, despite battling cancer for over five years, to run an international car transportation/recovery business in Liverpool, and previously ran a software business and a car repair garage near Manchester. Lived in Marston, Cheshire. A proud Welshman (the Welsh dragon is on all the transporters Cyd had), he raced in Formula Atlantic and Formula 3 and was particularly successful at Oulton Park. Cyd trained as a mechanic before starting racing in 1965 in a Lotus Cortina. Cyd kept some links to the sport still, and was a member of the British Racing Driver's Club until his death in late 2024.
