Now lives in West Sussex and keeps some contact with the sport. His career peetered out after a few Formula 1 test drives failed to lead anywhere. Scott impressed initially in Formula Ford, before enjoying an immensly successful 1981 - winning a televised race & coming 6th in his first British F3 Championship. He came 3rd the next year and this earnt him his F2 drive the following year, but it was a struggle. Although he later appeared - briefly and unsucessfully in Formula 3000, Dave also raced in Japan in single-seaters and sportscars for some while.
