Came into Formula 3000 with a blaze of publicity, especially as his sister Paula was in Formula 3 at the time and as well as that Cook was 1996 Formula Renault V6 Champion. Ran his own team, DC Motorsports, but left the sport after a relatively brief spell in F3000. David still lives in Rotherham and is involved in a few business projects. Previously ran a motorsport parts business and a leasing company, and for a while concentrated his efforts on his nephew Jake and his racing career in Formula Renault in the early 2010's.
