Moved into the European Touring Car Championship, amongst some other smaller series. Later raced in GT and karting events, as well as the Renault Clio V6 Eurocup, but is now retired and works as an engineer. Tichy competed in Britain in Formula Ford before racing in Austrian and German Formula 3. Despite a relatively unspectacular career prior to Formula 3000, Tichy impressed in his debut year in 1996 and came third in the series. He also did quite well in 1997, coming second at Helsinki, but his 1998 season with Coloni wasn't as successful and ended most hope of progressing further.
