British Formula 3 champ in 2002, he was left in the lurch for 2003 after a Formula 3000 move didn't work out and his career never found the same momentum. After a spell in the Renault World Series, he was Britain's A1 GP driver for some years. In more recent years, Robbie appeared in the Le Mans Series, Porsche Carrera Cup and the World Endurance Championship. Kerr then found a somewhat unique role as a hillclimb specialist at historic or special events - like the Goodwood Festival of Speed and the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power, the latter of which, where he holds the lap record. Robbie is also currently a driver coach as well. In 2018, after a long racing hiatus, Kerr moved into the US Sportscar Series. In 2019, he became the BRDC British Formula 3 Driving Standards adviser for a while.
