After a spell in the DTM, Albers was in F1, but was dropped by Spyker in 2007. Went back to the DTM, but after a brief spell in sportscars, retired for a while, largely because his wife was battling cancer. Lives in Monaco, where he runs a number of businesses, including interests in real estate. However, he decided in 2014, to return to racing and raced in the WEC. If that wasn't surprising enough, then he had another change in July 2014, when he became team principal of Caterham's F1 team. This didn't last long, for a number of reasons, largely down to the financial issues with the team, and for now he is retired from the sport again.
