Was manager for Jos Verstappen for a while. Now works as a event manager and helps advise some young Dutch drivers but is largely no longer directly involved with the sport, and his main efforts are concentrated towards running a large electric car charging station business, EV Box. Rothengatter overcame a lack of finance to progress his career, taking odd jobs to support himself, before former Grand Prix driver Ben Pon helped Huub. A determined, confident and risk-taking man, he impressed the Dutch company Phillips by his determination and belief in himself, taking out a full-page advert in Dutch national press. That led to him working in public relations for them after he finished his racing career in 1986, and later worked with Jordan in their debut season in 1991. Shortly after that, he took over as Jos Verstappen's manager. Rothengatter also enjoys flying.
