Also raced in Formula Atlantic. Started as a mechanic, but also played football at a decent level in his youth. As a car preparer, he would go and test cars, which eventually led to him racing. Finally left racing in 1995, due to a lack of funds, and went back to football, where he became a coach and manager. Juan was actually born in the former Yugoslavia as Ivan Kokeza but his father moved the family to Italy and then subsequently to Venezuela. Cochesa, his name now changed, moved to Venezuela when he was three years old in May 1958. Died in 2021 after an illness. Juan had two businesses. He ran a workshop which rebuilt engines, gearboxes and suspensions with his brother. He then also ran a bull breeding farm which produces bulls to the whole of the country.
