Moved into Formula 3 in 2014, and his peformances led to him joining Scuderia Toro Rosso in 2015, which made him, by some two years, the youngest driver ever in Formula 1. In 2016, after some stellar performances, he moved to Red Bull, and won in his first race for the team to become the youngest winner ever of a Grand Prix and the first Dutchman to win a World Championship Formula 1 race. In 2021, he won his first World Championship title in an epic battle with Lewis Hamilton and took his second title in 2022. He took a dominant third title in 2023 and that year saw him announce that he would look to manage a GT3 team in the future.
