Recently been in the A1 GP series, karting, Indy Pro and Champ Car Atlantic and also in the Indy 500 in 2007 and 2008. More recently he has been in karts, as he also runs a team - Phil Giebler Racing - a kart shop and works as a driver coach. Giebler was an efficient enough driver, but lack of sponsorship hindered his prospects. Phil made the unusual step of moving to France in 1999 to join a programme jointly run by Elf and Renault, but when they cut their racing programmes, Phil had to scrape round for a drive. Won the 2000 Formula Palmer Audi Winter Cup and salso peaks five languages.
