Now a racing instructor for Ford, after a spell at the Skip Barber racing school. No longer racing, but he did appear in a few SCCA type-events. Johnson initially started in Formula Super Vee, before winning the SCCA Pro National Championship in 1985. After that, he raced in Formula 3000, sportscars, CART, IMSA and Toyota Atlantic. Johnson began racing in California, in desert racing, but got his Formula 3000 break via actor David Hasselhoff, then of Knight Rider fame, who was the joint sponsor to get Ken over to, and racing in, Europe.
