Now retired from full-time driving and only races in the Dakar rally event, where he runs his own team, SMG. The team were in the Blancpain Endurance series, where Philippe ended his main driving career, but now run both current and historic rally cars. Philippe also designs cars. Gache started racing in 1983, but by 1992, he'd run out of money and time to make F1, and so attempted Indianapolis, but unfortunately it didn't go that well. He also raced in touring cars and won the 2001 French Porsche Carrera Cup Championship. Away from racing he likes to cycle and jetski.
