Now works for Bugatti as a test driver and sales agent. After F1, he raced in sportscars, both at Le Mans and in Japan. Raphanel won both the French Formula 3 title and the Monaco European F3 race in 1985. Pierre-Henri is also the uncle of Julien Gerbi, who raced for a while in Formula Palmer Audi and Turkish F3. Raphanel's father worked for BP in Algeria, but the family had links with the country going back many years before.
