Was a top driver in Euro Formula 3000, but now in a variety of series. Raced in Toyota Atlantic and the German Porsche Carrera Cup but is now a regular in the World Endurance Championship and the US Sportscar Series, after spells in FIA GT and ALMS. Won Sebring in 2008 and Le Mans in 2010 and 2016, and he was also the 2007 and 2008 American Le Mans Series LMP2 Class Champion. Amongst his other notable achievements include winning the Spa 24 Hours in 2003 and 2010 and the 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011 Nurburgring 24 Hours race. Dumas has also attempted rallying on occasion, including the Dakar Rally, most recently in 2017 and then again in 2023. Romain is also a frequent historic racer. In 2024, he announced he was setting up a LMP2 team to run and race with.
