Lost his Formula 1 seat in 2009, so worked for Mercedes as their test driver and then Pirelli as a tyre test driver. However he came back to F1 with Sauber briefly in 2010 and then again in 2011, where he stepped in at Lotus-Renault after Kubica's injury. However, he's now out of the sport after appearances in the World Endurance Championship and Formula E. Heidfeld has the most points, 2nd places and podium finishes without a win in Formula 1 history. Nick now works as an expert for German Formula 1 television coverage and he is a Formula E team advisor, but has also done some historic racing in more recent years as well as special one-off events like the Bathurst touring car race. He is also a development driver for the electric cars produced by Mahindra and its parent company Pininfarina.
