GP2 Champion in 2009, who moved into F1 with Williams in 2010. Despite an impressive season, he lost his seat became Force India test-driver in 2011. However, in 2012, he stepped up to the main role with the team. He switched to Sauber in 2013, but returned to Force India in 2014. One of the outstanding drivers on the grid, he still hasn't had the top drive that would probably lead him to challenge for the title. He had spells at Renault and Force India and then lost his seat altogether for 2020. However when Sergio Perez and then Lance Stroll were struck by coronavirus, Nico returned for a few races. In 2022, Nico remained a reserve to both Aston Martin and Mercedes which stood him in good stead when Sebastien Vettel also contracted coronavirus. In 2023, he returned full-time with the Haas team and was retained for 2024. He also took a stunning win at Le Mans in 2015. In 2025, he joined the Sauber team ahead of its switch to Audi in 2026.
