Son of Michael, who has seen his own career dramatically progress since the ski-ing accident that left his father with such grievous head injuries in the last days of 2013. Mick was ski-ing with Michael at the time but continued to race despite Michael's injuries with his mother's support. He had already competed in karting before the ski-ing accident but then moved into the ADAC Formula 4 series. In 2018, his career really moved forward when he won the 2018 Formula 3 European championship with eight wins. He moved to Formula 2 and after a so-so first year in 2019, followed it up in 2020 with the title, impressing many with his consistency. He raced for Haas in 2022 but lost his seat at the end of the season. He joined his father's old team - Mercedes - as their reserve driver from the 2023 season onwards until the end of 2024. He raced in the World Endurance Championship in 2024 and continued this for 2025.
