Very talented driver, who regrettably, rarely raced abroad and thus never really fufilled his promise. Mainly drove in hillclimbs, Formula 2 and did well in national series. Later raced in sportscars, carrying on until 1962. Heeks began racing just after World War Two and by 1950, was one of the best German Formula 2 racers, winning a number of events. Heeks then switched to both touring cars and then long-distance sportscar events and rallies, often appearing in tandem with friend and compatriot, Erwin Bauer. Heeks was the owner of a transportation company, who started racing in 1949, when he bought the assets of Teddy Vorster, a former AFM racer.
