Passed away after a prolonged spell of ill-health. Adolff retired relatively early from driving, due to his business interests (he ran a textile company, being the scion of the family business), however he still watched the sport and kept links historically until the onset of his illness. A World War Two paratrooper, he also competed in bobsleigh, was a fine hunter and also worked for a time as a consul to Chile. As a driver, Kurt had a varied career, starting in sportscar's in the late 1940's and finishing in hillclimbs.
