Popular and veteran Formula 2, Formula 3 and sportscar racer, killed in a Formula Junior race. Taylor was a tall chap - standing at six foot and two inches tall - whose day job was actually as a pub landlord in Eltham, South London. Taylor became a regular in British club racing, predominantly racing in the 500cc Formula 3 events, but also appeared in sportscars and Formula 2. Taylor switched to Formula Junior when it began in 1959 and continued in the series until his death at Monaco, when he crashed just after exiting the tunnel.
