Killed in a Formula Junior race in Sicily when he had to avoid a wheel that had come off a competitor's car, subsequently crashing. The pseudonym was in deference to his brother. A car mechanic, he was very good in hillclimbs and then in Formula Junior where he took a few wins in a Lotus 22-Ford. Lucien also competed in sportscars and rallying in an Alfa Romeo. By the time of his tragic death, he was concentrating more on his motorboat business in his home city of Nice than on his racing.
