Now works as an instructor at a driving school and ran a garage in Paris until recently. Michel was the 1971 French Formula Renault series winner and then the 1972 French Formula 3 champion. Michel then raced for many years in Formula 2, finishing runner-up in the 1975 season, with three wins. Leclere retired at the end of the 1979 Formula 2 season after failing to secure a return to Grand Prix racing. Leclere started racing in 1968 in the Renault 8 Gordini Cup and although he retired from competitive driving many years ago, he has appeared at many historic events or exhibitions, especially those with a Renault theme.
