1982 French Formula 3 champion. Now runs a racing school and circuit close to the town he was born in. Petit graduated from the La Chatre driving school before moving up to Formula 3 with support from a large business. In 1981 he bought a Martini MK31, becoming a race winner, but 1982 in the Ralt RT3 car of David Price Racing, he won the title. He plugged away with a Maurer MM83 BMW for most of 1983, before switching to a March 842 BMW in 1984, but he only took one podium in two years. Thereafter, Pierre appeared in sportscars, touring cars as well as the European Spider 905 Cup in 1992.
