Later did some touring car and GT driving, and still competes in the odd event now and again, including the Lotus Cup Italia series. In 2018, he raced in the TCR Italia series and also raced in 2020. Roberto did not race from 2021 onwards so he could focus on the impact of his businesses from the coronavirus pandemic which has badly hit ski-resorts. He is director of the Aremogna ski lifts in the Alto Sangro Skipass area.Now also runs and promotes a ski resort in his home town, where he helps run ski schools, design ski tracks and builds lodges, effectively being the driving force of the family-run resort, which in some ways is not surprising, as Roberto was a junior downhill ski champion before taking up racing, via hillclimbing, which he took up at a relatively late age compared to his rivals. A Formula 2 stalwart, his best result was 4th at the first race of the season at Silverstone in 1982.
