Raced in touring cars for Alfa Romeo for years, but when dropped in 2004, switched to sportscars and GT's for selected events. Was back in touring cars, in the WTCC, until 2009, when he came back to race in endurance events.He raced in Italian touring cars and in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe series, but was then mainly the test and performance driver for the TCR International Series, performing numerous balance performance tests during the season, with the occasional drive too. In 2017, he appeared in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series and in 2018, raced in the VLN touring car series and Italian GT events. His younger brother, Andrea, also has raced in touring cars. Now retired from racing, he runs his Green Planet Bike business which specialises in sales, repairs and accessories for road, off-road and electric bicycles in his hometown of Lido di Camaiore.
