Alfa Romeo test driver who was often given the chance to race sports and F1 cars for the marque. Carried on in sportscars until the mid '60's. His retirement came about after an incident in the 1964 Sebring 12 Hour race. His car developed a problem and he was slowing down near the pits when it was hit by another driver, who was unsighted. The fuel tank of the car exploded and Sanesi was lucky to survive, only being saved by Jocko Maggiacomo. Consalvo decided, that at the age of 53 and having survived a long career in racing to stop pretty much there and then.
