Also did sky-diving after his racing career finished! Jack was a qualified pilot. Often raced in sprint cars and roadsters and for a long time, ran a muffler shop in Huntington Park. Rounds was an extrovert, popular chap who, due to his wild driving style and penchant for crashing was known, with affection, as Upside Down Rounds. The most extreme example of that came in 1960, when his car flipped six times at a sprint car race at Terre Haute, Indiana. Rounds raced for most of the 1950's and 1960's, taking a notable seventh place at Langhorne's dirt oval speedway in 1960. He also competed for some years at the Pike's Peak annual hillclimb event.
