Died in 2012, after a fight against cancer and declining health. He often attended historic events and in the years before his death, also hosted some from his home in Cap Ferrat. Real name was Michel Poberejsky. A real enthusiast who had the money to enjoy his passion, Mike as the son of a Russian Jew who had fled the country to escape persecution. During World War Two the family found themselves in a repeat scenario and had to move to America in 1941. After the war Mike took up racing, competing in France, where he had moved back to, as well as North Africa. Although he never really made a proper career out of it, choosing just to thoroughly enjoy the experience, he did compete in saloon car racing for a while with some success.
