Died in a practice accident for the Coupe du Salon race. A lorry driver before World War 2, he later ran a successful transport haulage business, which allowed Mairesse to purchase a Delahaye in 1948. That year was a successful one for him as he won the Grand Prix des Frontieres at Chimay. He then repeated his success there in 1949 when it was a Formula 1 event. Guy then became a very capable sportscar driver and won the Coupe du Salon sportscar race at Montlhery in 1950 and 1951, but it was also the scene of his passing three years later.
