Killed in a crash at Darlington Motor Speedway. A sometime AAA racer, he was normally among the better midfield runners. Scott, a popular driver, raced in midget and sprint cars, taking up the sport in 1948, competing in a roadster race at Carrell Speedway for his debut. One year later, and now married, Bob moved into the Californian Racing Association's roadster championship before moving into AAA events. After a big crash in which he was burnt and injured, Scott briefly retired in 1951, before coming back after encouragement from Johnnie Parsons who then helped Scott with a good sprint car. By 1954, Scott was racing in stock cars as well, whilst still taking wins in midget events. Sadly, in July, at Darlington, in a very wet race, Scott lost control and crashed with fatal results.
