Killed in the Leinster Trophy libre race. A hotelier and timber importer by trade, he achieved a heap of excellent results in national, club and libre events in Britain. Started his career in 1950, in a F3 Cooper, but it was not until 1953 that his career started to take off results-wise. A friend of Sir Jeremy Boles, who was a Hereditary Baronet, grandson of Sir Dennis Boles, the former MP and Somerset politican, Beauman was given the opportunity financially to appear in better machinery and make his Grand Prix debut accordingly. Don lived near Walton-on-the-Hill in Surrey.
