For three years, Jean-Eric was a Formula 1 driver with Toro Rosso but is now with Ferrari as a test driver, specialising on simulation work. In 2016, he was also promoted to their main test and reserve driver. British Formula 3 champion in 2010, and Formula Renault 3.5 runner-up in 2011, he was challenging for a seat with Red Bull in 2014, but missed out to Daniel Ricciardo. However, he remains highly rated, not least because of the speed he has shown so far. He also recently been in sportscars and Formula E, remaining in both in 2025 and won the Formula E title twice in succession.
