Born:

23 Mar 1990
Barcelona

Nationality:

Spain

Grands Prix:

40 (2009-2011)

Jaime was in F1 as a driver for Toro Rosso, and at the time of his first Grand Prix, the youngest ever debutant in the sport. Left the team at the end of 2011 and didn't find a full time ride for a while, until 2014, when he was named as one of Formula E's new drivers. However, he kept busy whilst waiting for a drive - both as a commentator for British radio and also as a test driver for Pirelli, but most importantly for Jaime is his music - he is a DJ in Spain, specialising in indie and house music. Also known as Squire, Alguersuari has his own recording studio in his home city. In 2015, he raced in Formula E, sports and saloon cars until he had to stop for medical reasons at the Formula E race at Moscow. These reasons meant an instant hiatus to his career, which may have led to Jaime then deciding to stop altogether in October 2015. For now, his focus is on his music, but when the coronavirus pandemic struck and Alguersuari could not perform or tour, he returned to race in karts for fun, which he continues to do.
