Ran a haulage transport business until his death. Giraud-Cabantous had a long career in the sport, starting in the mid-1920's, but was really at his peak in the late 1940's and very early 1950's, when he recorded a string of good results. Started in the sport by working as a mechanic for Salmson, before his step-father, a doctor, bought him a car to begin racing with, initially in hillclimbs. Retired in 1957 to focus on his business.
