Killed in a car accident when he crashed into an unlit lorry that had broken down in a tunnel. Drogo had family in Venezuela, and moved there after World War Two broke out, and thus started in South American road and sportscar races, before moving back to Italy in 1958 and then raced sportscars mainly, coming fifth in the 1959 Targa Florio. A mechanic, who worked for Stanguellini, he later formed and ran his own sportscar team and also ran a business that modified Ferrari road cars. He became well known for his fabrication and bodywork on a range of top sportscars in the 1960's, including the well-known Ferrari 250 GT SWB Breadvan.
