Kept links with the sport until his death in 2010 at his home. Ran a Ferrari garage in Spa, as he was the Belgian importer for Ferrari for most of his adult life. The last survivor of the 1953 Swiss Grand Prix, Jacques was an orphan at 12. During World War Two, he became a member of the Belgian Resistance and was jailed, but survived months of interrogation. It was partly due to the money inherited by being an orphan that led to him starting racing as well as his dealership but he actually qualified with a law degree from University before taking up racing full-time in the 1950's as both an entrant and driver.
