Briefly HRT designer, which followed lots of experience in Formula 1, with spells at Sauber, Prost, Honda and many others. Started his career in French Touring Cars and later worked on the Peugeot F1 project which led to his F1 break. After leaving HRT, he worked as a designer for the Kolles Lotus team in WEC, but then went to work as a technical director and engineer in Formula E. He is now in a similar role, working on sports hypercars. Eeckelaert is also now a technical journalist for online media.
