Long-time chief designer for the Renault team, Tim left Renault in 2011 to retire from the sport, in which he spent almost 40 years in. After graduating, he worked for Lotus and as well as design work there, Densham worked as a race engineer, including for Elio de Angelis. He then performed similiar roles at Brabham and Tyrrell. He also worked on the stillborn Honda project in the 1990's which was shelved after Harvey Postlewaite's death.
