More recently involved in the British Touring Car Championship as Volvo's chief designer, and is now working as design and race engineer at Road Racing Research Ltd. He also works as an independent consultant, as well as working as a technical advisor to the FIA Technical Commission and the MSA and he is also technical delegate for some historic racing series. However, in 2016, he returned directly to motorsport as Miki Cerruti's race engineer in the TCR Series and then since 2017 has been involved in the Scandinavian TC series. John has also worked in A1 GP, World Endurance Championship and motorcycling in the past, and still likes to ride his classic motorcycles when he can.
