Chief engineer for Cosworth for some years, which included being in charge of the engine building supply to many Formula 1 teams. Also worked as chief designer at March for a while. Walters was best at engine development and design, which included, in 1996, the building of a whole new V10 engine, which supplied the Sauber Formula 1 team. Walters also worked very closely with Robin Herd, designing their six-wheeler car and was one of the leading figures at March for some time before joining Ford and Cosworth. Walters then went on to work for Mahle, a powertrain company who supplied engine and other power solutions to the automotive industry. He lives in Northamptonshire and still has links to racing through Ray Mallock Limited.
