Former Cooper designer, draughtsman and mechanic who still keeps links with the historic side of the sport, Stait was Owen Maddock's right-hand man at Cooper, and once Maddock left, Stait took over. Stait worked on a range of cars, but his most profilic design work was on Formula Junior cars. Eddie also worked as a freelance designer at McLaren for a while.
