Maverick, fun-loving youth who found success both on-track and in shaking up the F1 establishment. However, since F1, he's been very much part of THE establishment, as he became a government minister and was Chief Whip in the House of Lords during John Major's leadership. Was a leading Conservative peer, but in 2011, he joined the UK Independence Party instead. Has many business interests, including as a director of Kazakhstan's national airline, Air Astaena and he also works in greyhound racing as a promoter and official. Recently he has been more involved in horse racing and ownership of the Towcester racecourse.
