Now an engineer for Multimatic. Has spent a long time in the US, but returned to the UK to work for Jaguar, and although that ended in 2002, he does still have a home in Leicestershire and works as an independent consultant. Handford, whose surname has also been spelt as Hanford, was primarily an aerodynamic specialist who has worked in the field for well over twenty years, including spells in Indycar, but also with Lola and Swift. Handford holds a doctorate in aeronautics from the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine.
