A mineral water salesman and an importer/exporter who because of this money, raced private entries in the 1950's, mainly in sportscars. He took up racing in the early 1950's in long distance road events and hillclimbing. He bought a Ferrari 375MM in 1954 and won that year in both his homeland and also in Africa in various sportscar races. Scotti hired a Connaught to make his Grand Prix debut but the car and the race left him underwhelmed and he left the sport one year later.
