Became a photo-journalist after retirement, before his death from cancer. Baghetti started racing in 1956 and proved capable in sportscars and Formula Junior but nothing pointed to the sensation he caused of winning his first ever World Championship Grand Prix at Reims beating the great Dan Gurney in a straight fight. It was actually his third F1 win, having also taken wins at Syracuse and Naples before the event at Reims. However once he lost his Ferrari seat at the end of 1962, his career was never at the same trajectory. Baghetti raced in touring cars, sportscars, rallies and Formula 3 before embarking on his new career, which included working as editor of Auto Oggi, producing videos for FIAT and working as a fashion photographer for Playboy magazine, amongst others.
