A capable driver who was comfortable in Formula 3, where he spent most of his career, but seemed reluctant to go into other categories, where he probably would've done quite well. He won over 15 races in the discipline. He started racing, aged only 19, in 1953. He moved into Formula 2 in 1958, and he made his GP debut as part of the Formula 2 class, before returning back to Formula 3 in 1959, with a Cooper-Norton car and won a few races again. He finished his career in 1960 with some sportscar drives and a season of Formula Junior.
