Also raced under his real name, Harry Eisele. Popular man, who also worked as a mechanic. Due to his facial likeness to the star, Rose was a stunt double to Clark Gable in the movie, To Please a Lady. Rose competed in stock and sprint cars, but was much better known for the latter discipline, especially on dirt ovals. Rose raced from the mid-1930's until the 1960's, with one of his most notable wins coming in 1958, winning the Riverside 500 sprint car race. Bud was a good help to younger sprint car drivers. Rose also competed in the dry lake speed runs and raced hot rod cars.
