Better known as ''Red'' Amick. Ran a truck stop, under his own name, near Muncie, Indiana before retiring to Florida. He also ran a restaurant in North Vernon, Indiana. Amick - who was not related to fellow Indianapolis 500 starter George - was most successful racing short-track roadsters. Amick also raced hot rods. Amick's best result at Indianapolis was eleventh in 1960 but his finest achievement was winning the 1956 AARC Championship.
