Later built road car engines for Ford and also developed the Offy racing engine. He retired in 1972 after being bought out by George Bignotti, and then moved to Nevada to relax but made a return, at 87, to drive and win a heat of an electric powered motor race as a favour for a high school! Louis started his career as a mechanic before making the switch to driving.
